The NY Times comissioned us to design the cover of the LEARNING section highlighting an article entitled “Educating Gen Z”. We wanted to communicate the idea of education simply and quickly so we built a ‘Z’ using the tip of two graphite pencils to make out the counter forms of the letter. We picked a  dark yellow color as a reference to the number two pencil. The result is a bold and graphic cover highlighting the gap families must fill between the price of college and the aid they receive.
