Stalking a Serial Killer
Stalking A Serial Killer is a narrative photo story supported by quotes from local detectives, residents, family members, witnesses and survivors. Individual accounts have become the singular voice of a Phoenix neighborhood terrorized by a serial killer. The “Serial Street Shooter” has gunned down seven and wounded two. The killings are at random, carried out from the confines of the perpetrators car. The victims are often in, near or exiting their own vehicles.
The photos first appeared in French magazine Society for their America issue during the week of the US election. The series comes at a critical moment in our nation's history, poignantly depicting the black and Latino neighborhood wherein the killer roamed, acting as a metaphor for issues plaguing American lives: immigration, race, a shrinking middle class, community policing, mental health and gun violence.
